Life as an explorer must have been very exciting. Imagine you are a member of Christopher Columbus’ crew on the voyage to discover new land. Tell the story of your adventure!

What did you have to eat on board?
Describe the weather as you sailed.
How did you feel when land was sighted?
Tell about going ashore and the sights of the new land.
“Build” a Sailing Ship
Materials
• Tempera paint
• Paint brush
• Butcher paper
• Scissors
Directions
- Paint a large sailing ship on butcher paper.
- Let it dry, then cut it out.
Bulletin Board Suggestion
Cut waves from butcher paper. “Sail” the ships over the waves.
