Colors, colors, everywhere! Open students’ eyes to the colors all around them and build color recognition skills. Pick a color of the week and create a display featuring that color prominently. Cut the crayon box from the Learning Chart, and use it to post a list of objects from a class brainstorm session. Next, students draw pictures in that color, or find and cut magazine images in that color. Students describe their drawings or clippings as they add them to the display. Use crayon accents to add student names to the completed display. Each week, focus on a new color of the rainbow.
