Materials:
Paper plates
Cookie cutouts
Cookie tin
- Choose word families that you would like the students to review.
- Program the cookies with words that you have studied.
- Store the cookies in a cookie tin.
- Label each plate with a word family.
- Place the plates, cookies, and tin in your reading center.
- Allow the students to sort the cookies to the correct plate as they read aloud the word.
Variation:
Label the plates with Uppercase and Lowercase and allow students to sort cookies that are labeled with the alphabet letters.
