Description
A thorough understanding of the base-ten number system is one of the critical building blocks for developing computational fluency. Place Value Trains demonstrate that the three digits of a three-digit number represent amounts of hundreds, tens, and ones; e.g., 602 equals 6 hundreds, 0 tens, and 2 ones. Use alone or with base ten blocks (sold separately) to model numbers to the hundreds place. Place Value Train Cards form a useful transition between base ten blocks and written numerals. Similar to arrow cards, a set of place value cards with an “arrow” or point on the right side, Place Value Trains help students organize the cards horizontally or vertically to represent numbers in expanded notation. Overlap the cards or line up the train engine to form multi-digit numbers. Contains 28 demonstration-sized train cards printed 0-9, 10-90, and 100-900. Longest card measures 12.4″ x 2.75″.
