Made from the highest quality MDF manufactured from plantation timber – a renewable resource and does not contribute to forest degradation. Puzzles coming from China are at present using real forest timbers from Indonesia, Russian Beech and their own forest timbers – these resources are not being renewed. Tuzzles Puzzles has at least a feve-year (if not forever) life span unless it is maltreated. Tuzzles Puzzles liase with teachers, special needs educators, psychologists, speech therapists and parents to develop a range of products, which are relevant to today’s children. Puzzle designs are developed for use by teachers as an aid for learning, behavioural modification, a sense of achievement, helping to promote self worth and sometimes just for fun. .
TACTILE – Children who lack tactile development may have difficulty with intricate tasks such as tying shoe laces or fine craft work such a s crayons scissors and pencils. Puzzles help because the children have to feel the 3 dimentional surfaces of puzzles and this improves the brains ability to interrupt what the hands are touching. VISUAL MOTOR – Hand eye and foot coordination relies on meaningful and efficient feedback through vision, touch and body movement to plan and execute complex motor tasks. Puzzles help because they provide a range of activities that encourage the child to develop imporved visual motor integration. The placement of the piece, the memory of what the piece should look like, the memory of the shape of the piece and the fine judgement as to how to precisely place the piece back into context, help develop these skills. PROPRIOCEPTION / VESTIBULAR – These are important non visual senses based in the joints of the body and the inner ear which enables the body to be aware of where it is in space and during movement. They help maintain posture, balance and resting tone and impact on the level of alertness and activity. Puzzles make a child use different muscles and tendons and different postures to help develop these senses and balance. Floor puzzles are particularly good for these skilss as the children have to reach, stretch and balance during this floor activity. PRE-READING – Tuzzles Puzzles can be used for pre-reading skill development activities for younger children or as remedial aids for older children. They can be used to develop memory skills, help with speech development, story telling and communication. SOCIAL SKILLS DEVELOPMENT – Tuzzles Puzzles, particularly the floor puzzles can be used as an aid in developing cooperative play and non-competitive interaction such as – turn taking, sharing and group cooperation.
