The first part of the book focuses on the mechanics of our government and the principles grounded in the Constitution – ;the Law of the Land. The Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and Amendments, the separation of powers, and our system of checks and balances are explored. The remainder of the book highlights those who have served as President of the United States. A time line highlighting the events of importance during each President’s administration plus individual President cards become the tools students will use to help them learn about each president.
