Parts of a Book
The title page tells the name of a book. It gives the name of the author. It also tells the name of the company that published the book.
The table of contents comes after the title page. It lists the titles of the chapters, units, stories, or poems in the book. It also lists the page on which each new part begins. Everything in the book is listed in the order in which it appears.
An index is a list of all the topics in a book. It is in alphabetical order. It lists the page or pages on which each topic appears.
