This was the second meeting between these two teams in the Super Bowl. The game was characterized by the 49ers coming back from a 16-13 deficit and winning the game on a Joe Montana pass with 16 seconds left in the game. This was the drive in which, to break tension, Montana looked into the stands and pointed, saying "Isn't that John Candy?"
